Third Grave Dead Ahead

Third Grave Dead Ahead - Darynda Jones Not loving what Reyes did here... Charley's character remains perfectly sweet, funny, brave, smart and loveable... New characters are introduced, wonder what Donovan's role is in Charley's life will be... Mistress Marigold is finally out, not what I expected for sure... As for Charley's new guardian, I'm glad it's not who I thought it would be, totally not expecting that too. Again, so much emotions specially towards the end...

Lots of action and suspense and surprises, I love it! And Reyes better make up for it on the next book... and Charley's dad seriously needs a hard hit in the head!

Moving on to the next book!!!

Second Grave on the Left

Second Grave on the Left - Darynda Jones 5 Might Should Stars!!!!

I love it when the heroine's learns of her power slowly and surprises you... go Charley! And her character has such beautiful soul, so forgiving... and I love and get her humour! Like when she said that her and the barkeep Donnie never really seen eye to eye, I thought for a minute they don't like each other, but she goes on and say "Mostly 'cause he was much taller than I was." I thought that was just funny. And theres more where that come from. I mean, the things she thinks or says most of the times surprises me in a funny "haha" way.

And we get to know about Reyes, yay... no wonder I was told he is more powerful than Barron of Fever Series and Wrath of BDB... but he does have a more powerful enemy too. As I grow to love him... I feel for him and for Charley...

His words. His voice. His Stunning beauty. I was the reason he breathed? He was the reason my heart beat. - Charley.

Then there's Charley's bff Cookie... with the two of them together, it's a riot. And this time, Cookie joins Charley in finding her missing friend. But of course the bad guy will be there to stop Charley.

That makes this another action packed book! And lots of surprising twist towards the end. Gemma, her sister, was a wonderful surprise. Her dad is still a major disappointment, I think someone should punch him for me. I'm glad there's Cookie and Gemma who says what needs to be said that Charley won't say cause she is just that kind.

I could go on and on but I'd rather move on to the next book... ;)

First Grave on the Right

First Grave on the Right - Darynda Jones Loved it! What's not to like? A very funny.. I love all her quirkiness... kick-ass, smart, brave and very compassionate heroine. I love that, despite what that evil stepmother did to her, her spirit never broke. And who here has memories of the day they were born? Charley does! I think that is pretty cool!!!!

I love almost everyone in this book... almost, cause I hate the bad guys and of course the monster stepmom... and though I like Charley's dad, I am very disappointed with him too. He should have dump that bitch ass when he saw what she did to his 5 years old daughter! Gah! That pisses me off.

Anyway, love the humour... enjoyed it! Love all the action... all the mystery.

I love her BFF/assistant/neighbor Cookie... she is such an awesome support.

I love Ubie, or Charley's Uncle Bob. I love their banters or rather Charley's constant teasing... I find it quite endearing.

Then there is Garrett, I think he loves Charley... I can already foresee the future... haha... (Interesting how Reyes pushed Garrett away from Charley... jealous much? Hehe)

And then there is Reyes... such mystery... True, you hardly see him in the book but all his appearances makes a huge impact... I love that he is very protective of Charley... what a weird yet hot astral romance they got going, lol.

And a whole lot more interesting characters that is easy to relate to...

Wonderfully written and interesting storyline.

Thanks Silvana for recommending! Loved it for sure!!!! Can't wait to read the next books!

Sidekick

Sidekick - Auralee Wallace I'm at 51% done but I gotta know when to stop for now? ...

If I could I would rate this based on how far I've read... but I cannot cause I couldn't, for the love of me, like anything so far... the more I dig in, the more I'm not into it...

It is like a superhero story gone wrong... everything just happens magically... I could not understand or like the heroine...

Anyway... this is just my opinion, maybe if I continue to read on I will get it, or not... :-P

Rules of Survival

Rules of Survival - Jus Accardo 3.5 Stars!

An action-packed, romantic-suspense novel...

My rating is really based on personal choice. I liked it but didn't love it... ;) I find it just a little too light for my thrill of romantic-suspense novel.

There is lots of action since they are mostly on the run thorough the entire book. When I say they, meaning the two lead character, Mikayla and Shaun.

Mikayla's on the run cause she is wanted for her mother's murder... and Shaun, an apprentice bounty hunter, together with his mentor Patrick. were the first to capture her. For Shaun, it all started with capturing Mikayla, handing her over and getting their bounty... but when men started shooting after them to get to Mikayla, everything's changed.... now it's all about protecting Mikayla. While Mikayla really have no choice but to trust Shaun and his help in finding who killed her mom.

All this mystery could have been avoided from the start had her mom told Mikayla everything... OR, all this could have been avoided if they went back to retrieve the letter her mom left for her. But, I guess there wouldn't be a story if all that happened. In other words, something simple is made complicated.

Mikayla's character is brave, smart and kick-ass.... And Shaun, well, he sounds hot and promising. Both lead character are equally likeable. I enjoyed their chemistry together.

And I appreciated it that there was none of that "insta-love" happening. Yet!!!! But there is that undeniable attraction. ;) (Not that I have anything against insta-love.)

It is well written and well delivered.... and there is also that extra twist in the story... BUT BUT BUT, it's this is just me, I need a little more oomph in my read... so I guess it's a matter of reference for me. I don't wanna say predictable, but... I was kinda anticipating that part in the end too. :-P

My first Jus Accardo read and definitely not the last. ;)

Hate to Love You

Hate to Love You - Elise Alden 4.5 Punto Final Stars!

I always love it when the book cover is very enticing, then comes a synopsis that would really pique your interest. Well, it got mine and I’m glad, cause I loved it!!!

For a changed, I am in love with the female protagonist a lot more than the male protagonist, despite all her mishaps.

Severed Angel: 1 (Severed MC)

Severed Angel: 1 (Severed MC) - K. T. Fisher 2.5-3 Stars

I had high hopes.... and maybe it's me... but this was a nay for me....

Eve and her friend Teresa makes me think I'm reading about two spoiled selfish teenagers instead of adults.

Eve, the lead female character, I thought I like her at the start, but that changed so early in the story... too whiney and immature... she annoys the hell out of me. Do not like her at all.

Gabe was alright but I couldn't relate more with him.. despite this being written under both Eve and Gabe's POV.

As for the romance part of the story, I mean I get those instant-lust/love thing, but I am just not feeling it here. The sex part was okay I guess, I'm not sure, I'll just leave it there. Lol.

The biker aspect of the story was so so. I find the story lacking and predictable... even to the end despite the supposedly huge cliffhanger.

So, all in all, what I'm saying is that, this book doesn't do it for me. Sorry.

Am I going to read the next book? Not sure... I'm leaning more on NO, for now...

The Things We Can't Change Part Two: The Struggle

The Things We Can't Change Part Two: The Struggle - Kassandra Kush

Okay now I am just officially depress! And I say this in a good way book wise.

All the time I want to scream to Evie to grow some spine and fight, at the same time I feel sorry and as helpless as her. Going inside her mind makes me cringe, mad, depress... I am emotionally depleted!

image

Then there's Zeke, I love him yet he disappoints me too, well, guess he is not perfect, lol....While I love that he said the words that I so wish to tell Evie, at the same time, I'm thinking, is there any way to say those words in a encouraging way?

Their thoughts, Evie and Zeke, and with the people surrounding them.... it makes me so sad and so mad!!!

This story story sits so close to reality.

Two people, one who needs to feel pain to feel alive... while the other don't want to feel anything so he won't feel the pain.

And just when I thought it's already depressing enough with everything thats happened, and with what is currently happening; with the bullies, then there's Cameron (what the hell is his problem?), with Evie and Zeke's emotional and mental struggle.... and then bang! Something tragic happened! AGAIN!

image

What.The.Hell!!!!

Seriously, this book is brilliant! If you want lots of angst, well, here you go! I highly recommend.

I am gonna need some comfort food after this.

The Things We Can't Change Part One: The Prologue

The Things We Can't Change Part One: The Prologue - Kassandra Kush 5 Most Shocking and Disturbing Stars!

This is me after finishing this first part of the series ..

image

I want to specify that when I say disturbing and shocking, I mean it in a non-graphic violent way, but more on the event happening in general.

This definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth.... like, I can't believe just how stupid.... ugh!!! I am shock... devastated.

image

But this could really happen, so we're talking a close to reality story.... the abuse, the consequences, those elite snobs that thinks they are way better than everyone else and they can't do anything wrong, ugh....

I just really could not understand the why's... I wished Evie, the lead female character, listened to Zeke, the lead male character. I am so confused and frustrated right now.

image

My heart breaks for Zeke, look what doing the right thing would get you! Not the right kind of message we want to put out, but it is happening....sigh...

This is one of those that I can't say anything about the plot cause then it might just lead to a complete spoiler.

I hesitate to read what happens next, not because I find the story bad, not.at.all......on the contrary, it is most brilliantly written and a quite stirring storyline... but because it kinda scares me to know so what's next? I really don't want to hate Evie... and I am feeling so bad for Zeke. While, at the same time, I badly wanna know what's next for Evie and Zeke.

And may I just add, what a most apt title.... "the things we can't change"... true enough...

The Forever Song

The Forever Song - Julie Kagawa Overall, I most certainly enjoyed this series! This 3rd and final instalment alone is on full-on high powered action, suspense and a lot of surprising twists! A lot of stunning action scenes that had my stomach all tied up. I loved it!

I really appreciate that the story tries not to concentrate more on romantic side though it is there (again, for a change), but more on the overall storyline, killing the bad guy, find the cure for the virus, save the world and let humanity prevail.

There are no weak characters here.... all characters has such strong identifiable traits.... I definitely enjoy and love getting to know, even the most hated enemy, Sarren. And Jackal, well, he is honest and says it as it is... I wished there was something more in the end about Jackal here though. But the heroine, Allison, does not disappoint... though there was a moment I thought she'd become somewhat boring, but she regained fast.

Again, amazing world building and brilliantly written. Definitely recommend.

Incubus (Episode #1)

Incubus (Episode #1) - Rachel Bateman This has 46 pages, so yeah, finished in no time, lol... But it's FREE in AMAZON, so I thought why the hell not! LOL.

The 3 stars is cause I would like to know what happens next... ;) and I would go and buy them only the next one comes in 38 pages, haha, it's even worst. Just no.... :(

Chosen Darkness (Chosen Series)

Chosen Darkness (Chosen Series) - Fawn Atondo To start with, it had my full attention...

Then in the middle part of the story, I'm getting all confused, lost, and my interest? Also getting lost....

But luckily I am able to read it all the way to the end! But with feigning interest.

As the lead character got colder and confusing along the way, same goes as to how I felt reading this. Maybe it is the intention as far as character goes, but if I'm feeling detached to the lead character that runs the story, I don't know where to go from there.

I will not do a full review cause it might just be me.... and I might need to read again the middle part of the story where I am all confused as to "WTH just happened there" scenes, but I won't, read them again I mean, cause I just don't have the time for that..

Add to that is a hanging ending... so, it was a hell of a party for me, lol.

It has a very interesting storyline.... so again, it might just be me.... cause I really am not so sure of this (start of a series?) for now. ;)

Dragon's Lair
